1. The "Reset 3 … 2 … 1" routine
One consistent cue trains the whole class to settle on command. Field-tested in a real kindergarten pilot, this became the signal students recognized instantly.
- Wait until all students are seated before you begin.
- Say calmly: "Reset in 3… 2… 1…" (invite them to say it with you).
- Start one breathing routine (see below) — no other directions during it.
- End with a 10-second check: "Thumbs up — how do you feel?"
- Exit cleanly. Keep it short; consistency matters more than length.
2. Pick the right routine for the room
Match the protocol to the classroom's current state:
Hyper / loud / scattered → Quick Ground or Calm Down
Sluggish / sleepy / unfocused → Transition
Before a learning block → Focus Prep
3. Six classroom breathing routines
These mirror the guided routines in PNEUOMA Classroom Sync, so you can lead them by voice or run them on screen for the whole class.
- Breath Reset (2:00) — 4s in / 4s out. A balanced all-purpose reset.
- Quick Ground (1:00) — 3s in / 5s out. Fast settle for a wound-up room.
- Transition (1:30) — 4s in / 6s out. Move cleanly between activities (great before/after recess).
- Focus Prep (2:00) — 4s in / hold 2s / 4s out. Prime attention before work.
- Calm Down (3:00) — 4s in / 8s out. Longer exhale for high activation.
- Energy Up (1:00) — 2s in / 2s out. Gentle lift for a sleepy group.
4. Transition scripts (say these out loud)
Coming in from recess
"Find your seat. We're going to reset so our bodies are ready to learn. Reset in 3… 2… 1… Breathe in with me… and slowly out…"
Before independent work
"Eyes soft, shoulders down. Three slow breaths to get our focus ready. In… hold… out…"
After a hard moment
"That was a lot. Let's give our bodies a chance to settle. Long breath out — like you're fogging a mirror."
5. Morning reset routine (5 minutes)
- Arrival cue: soft music or the Reset 3-2-1 signal.
- Body scan (1 min): "Notice your feet, your hands, your breath."
- Breath Reset (2 min): 4-in / 4-out together.
- Intention (1 min): "One word for how you want today to go."
- Bridge (1 min): move straight into the first activity while calm.
6. Emotional check-in activities
- One-word weather: "Is your inside weather sunny, cloudy, stormy?"
- Thumb dial: thumb up / sideways / down for energy level.
- Color check: "What color matches your feeling right now?"
- Name-it round: each student names one feeling — no fixing, just noticing.

8. What teachers can expect
In a 3-week kindergarten pilot, the teacher began running these routines daily — and kept going without the founder present. Use school-safe framing: these tools support regulation, help students reset, improve transitions, and increase participation. They are not medical treatment.
